One of the most anticipated sessions at the 2019 International Food Blogger Conference is the Friday morning panel called Advice From the Pros.
This is not an entirely new concept for the IFBC. In 2018 in New Orleans, we hosted a panel called Pros in Practice which included three successful food bloggers (Jenny Melrose, Kristen Chidsey, and Toni Dash) and three marketing experts from the Zehnder communications firm. Over two hours, these six covered a huge variety of topics of interest to food bloggers.
The thing was, even with two hours, six people was too many. There was so much knowledge on stage the three bloggers were practically leaping out of their seats to provide useful advice.
Our Speakers
So we decided to replicate this panel in 2019 with just three expert food bloggers:
Toni Dash | Boulder Locavore
After a personal experiment of over-wintering in Colorado sourcing her produce and protein exclusively from a 100-mile radius, Toni started Boulder Locavore to share her food finds. Her blog quickly evolved to focus on seasonal food and cocktail recipes (all gluten-free), as well as travel, and has garnered a national and international following. Her work has been featured by the Huffington Post, The Today Show, Shape magazine and more. Toni is also on the IFBC Advisory Board and is intimately connected to the food blogging community.
Jason Logsdon | Amazing Food Made Easy
Jason is successfully blogging at Amazing Food Made Easy, which has more than 150,000 monthly pageviews generated by more than 100,000 unique visitors, newsletters with over 22,500 subscribers, and an active Facebook group with 28,000 people. He is also the author of 12 (!) cookbooks on modernist and sous vide cooking. Jason has become a master at creating a passive revenue stream from his blog that includes kitchen products, traditionally publishing books, recipe licensing, paid cooking courses, self publishing cookbooks, e-books, patronage, affiliate sales, wholesaling books, selling brand swag, and ad networks.
Yvette Marquez-Sharpnack | Muy Bueno Cookbook
Yvette is an Emmy-winning producer and writer, award-winning food blogger, and author of Muy Bueno: Three Generations of Authentic Mexican Flavor co-written with her mother Vangie and sister Veronica, and Latin Twist: Traditional & Modern Cocktails, co-written with Vianney from Sweet Life. She won her Emmy award (go, Yvette!) for her video Day of the Dead Celebration. Yvette is a native Texan, born and raised in El Paso, but now lives in Colorado.
Our moderator is Jana Seitzer of Whisky + Sunshine.
Subjects to Be Covered
The topics will range widely and the entire point will be for these three successful food bloggers to impart their wisdom to the audience, so IFBC attendees can go home and improve their own blogging careers. Topics will include:

- Writing for Google and your audience
- Sending effective email newsletters
- RSS Feeds
- Mastering social media

We are confident this session alone will be worth the price of admission and your plane ticket to Juneau.
